As societies go, to me the scariest part is surprisingly, "Two weeks ago, a 26-year-old anti-feminist TikTok star named Hannah Pearl Davis released an acoustic song titled, “Why Can’t We Talk About the Jews?” (She deleted it after a backlash.)" - Someone pushes, faces backlash and backtracks, but the next time someone pushes it gets less backlash. And then it becomes normal.

Personally, I would hope that since the left is growing stronger and they wouldn't allow holocaust ideologies to actualize, it can be a more stable situation than Nazi Germany. Which helps because in a democracy, even if *we* leave the right, the right still exists. But then again, since we are demonized by the left as well for being too intolerant, it's possible that we could become the greatest uniting force of the country, and I mean that in the scariest way possible.

I'm impressed that you're able to see the whole picture and lay the blame on both sides.

With regards to the left, it's not just their wokeism. You can't ignore all the secular jewish organizations running around calling the whole world an anti semite. (How many statements did the ADL put out against Trump?) No question that plays a big role as well.

Amazing post! Thought out and articulate. I couldn't agree more.

Some of the smartest people I know in the frum world began pointing out this trend even in the early trump era circa 2016. Historically whenever the political scene takes on a dogamtic religious like feel to it the jews manage to bare the brunt of the pain. I wonder though if the frum community is sadly already too entrenched in this sort of political warfare against the "left" that the danger on the "right" will manage to grow untouched. Well done anyway. Here is my short post on this topic: https://open.substack.com/pub/yitz/p/why-jews-should-be-political-atheists?r=18fvvq&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

Another good reason why we shouldn't be occupied with non-Jewish politics (probably another part of yeshivish culture you find unpleasant. On this we agree). We can learn from the chassidim who are political pragmatists and vote Democrat or Republican whoever offers them better terms.

The chafetz Chaim said to vote for whatever is better for the stability of the country, not whatever gives us better terms.

I was talking more about local elections. In terms of national elections, we have to vote for the stability of the country, we also have to keep in mind who will be most likely to keep the Torah undisturbed.

Brilliantly said. Enjoyed the graphic.

This article needs to be updated given current events and what we are seeing from the left. השם ירחם

The right as well. Tucker and Candace are now fullblown antisemites. I never said to vote democrat. Just to leave the republicans.

Not sure what you mean by leave. Stop being Registered? Don't give Money to the RNC? Anyway, I don't cancel my American citizenship just because there are anti-Semites in the US. Or not be supportive of Israel because I read Perfidy (unlike others who have poor decompartmentalization skills). Only when the mere mention of an affiliation associates with something bad is it more concerning. Thus I don't think the republican party reflects that.

True about Tucker and Candace. You know what they say, the political spectrum is a circle, where extreme left and extreme right meet at the same place. (like Nazis and Soviets both become murderers, or like woke and Netrurei karta are both pro Palestinian.)

I disagree with almost everything in this article (from the right), but wanted to make one specific point clear: the Harry Potter stories are decidedly right wing, with a key feature being the right to bear arms (wands) allowing a ragtag group of citizens to defend themselves from their own authoritarian Government as well as a foreign enemy.

It's a miracle that leftists claim(ed) it for themselves.

Can you be more specific? If anything, as time moved on, we see Tucker adopting more racist and antisemitic tropes. See how the far right treats Ben Shapiro.

(That is not to say the far left isn't antisemitic. It deeply is. But I am more of a DeSantis or Haley Republican and Fetterman Democrat rather than either of the two extremes and we shouldnt tie ourselves to one party.)

Ah, I missed this reply.

I'd prefer not to get into it - my politics are to the right of Genghis Kahn (I kid, but in reality I align best with Curtis Yarvin if you're familiar with him) and we're way too far apart to have a fruitful discussion.

it's getting even more scary now because we get burned on the right and get burned on the left (they'll call it anti-Zionist, but that can easily go haywire). if the trump right wins they hate us and if the far-left get more powerful, we're also doomed c'v. i hope we don't become the unifying force...

on a more positive note, the mainstream world, both gov't and media showed a powerful rally of support and we could keep davening and to teshuva and hope things stay stable....

The fact is that the Jews are consitently viewed as a subversive minority by the host nations. Why can't this be discussed?

This deserves a longer response. Hopefully in a later post of its own.

I do agree, things will get a lot worse. We will see open antisemitism becoming acceptable, probably not onna national level, but in the antiwoke edgy young political crowd.
