Two Great Articles
Here's two interesting articles that caught my attention:
The first is from a great blog by Rabbi Joshua Waxman called Scribal Error. I have been following R’ Waxman since Parshablog, and his return to blogging is welcome.
Here is his interesting perspective on siyumim during the nine days. Since I read the article to the end, I was able to enjoy some hearty steaks! L’chaim!

Another great article was by R’ Yitzchak Adlerstein, who will probably come out of the closet as Modern Orthodox any day now. The article is called “Were we wrong about Chabad?” And his answer is shockingly yes. Here is an excerpt:
The rest of us were wrong all along. We neglected to see what Chabad was really accomplishing with their tefillin booths. It had little to do with tefillin, and everything to do with conveying a simple but powerful message: We love you as brothers and sisters. You are worth our investing our time, energies and lives. Whatever you think of your level of observance or non-observance, we think that your being part of our people is important. Yiddishkeit belongs as much to you as it does to us.
(Of course, i could make a little joke about how yiddishkeit is the closest religion to chabad, but its the nine days and its pas nisht.)

Rabbi Adlerstein’s article’s title may be sensational, but that’s hardly THE problematic aspect of Chabad.
The actual article is nice.
''(Of course, i could make a little joke about how yiddishkeit is the closest religion to chabad, but its the nine days and its pas nisht.)''
Actually, given the fact that the first Bais Hamikdash was destroyed because of Avodah Zara, as is stated in the gemara (and discussed in kinos). there would be no more appropriate time for some ליצנותא דע"ז.
But a serious comment pointing this out is also fine, doesn't need to be humorous.
